Track Review : Stunner - Time

Despite the emergence and popularity of the new generation of Hip Hop, Stunner has managed to stay relevant. Like everyone he had his ups and downs, hits and misses but  regardless every Zimbo can agree kuti Mdara Des has managed to stay relevant over the years...he is like the Zim version of Jay Z.

He has released a couple of tracks this year, Never Gonna Get It & Unemamhepo ft Tally B are my favourite among those he released in 2015. For someone regarded as a hip hop icon in the country every release is under scrutiny and has to be standard. With Mamhepo he ruthlessly won and ended his feud with fellow rapper Mudiwa for good and he further solidified his position as one of the greats. The major question now is that how does the new track fare??

Time was produced at Mt Zion records, uhmmmm he has been recording there a lot, personally don't know if its because Stunner is a fan of T-Man's productions or that Mt Zion is now under Tazoita Cash Records or they have a partnership???.

The instrumental is great, standard, it sounds pretty good....play it on a good stereo and you will be turning up in no time.

The track as name implies its about Time, time to party, time to work, time to hustle. Stunner has a good ear when it comes to hooks, that's one of the major weapons that has made him into an icon. This song is no exception, by the end of the track you will be singing;
"Ndiyani ane time
Ndiyani ane time
Ndakuenda nda ndakuenda
Ndakuenda nda ndakuenda"

Catchy chorus there and on the verses he delivered some great bars. Also it wouldn't be a Stunner song without some bragging lines...he declared that he is in all the hits, he makes all the hits. although its a bold statement its not entirely wrong. Was skeptic when l listened to the track for the first time but by the time it ended l was enjoying it....its rilly rilly good.

Stunner has still got it and still gives the new generation a run for their money. They should try learn from Des, because most of them just release one good song and that's it.....forever. We need consistency and durability.
