Track Review: Bryan Kadengu feat Dobba Don - Ndopenga

Image
Bryan Kadengu is one of the most interesting artists that have came out in the past couple of years, his 2015 Nyaya Dzerudo Album is among the best albums from the past 5 years. Last year he released the track Heavy Machine which received a lot of love from the masses and it served as his introduction to the majority of Zimbos. On my review of Heavy Machine , I was afraid Bryan was going to leave his initial afro soul sound to a more popular sound/structure ( change is always a hard thing ) and its seeming that way with each new track he releases or features in. He went on to feature on Mr Kamera's slow afro beat jam Pamusika and their collaboration continued onto this new jam, to spice up things they included popular dancehall chanter Dobba Don. Today will be sharing my views and thoughts on the track. Mr Kamera was in charge of the productions and he did a good job. He carried on with the slow and lovely afro beat sound like on Pamusika.  The instrumental is chilled, the

Track Review: Kambo Boys - Sweet Larissa

Image
Last year when I finally succumbed to the suggestion videos on YouTube and watched Melo my brain could not comprehend what was happening on screen. My knowledge of sungura and its videos was not matching with what I was watching, during the first couple of plays the song seemed like it was a voice over and had to use my lip reading skills to finally admit that this was actually not a voice over.  Melo is a lovely song and it made me a fan of the UK based Kambo boys. At the beginning of the year, legendary producer Mono Mukundu announced that he is working with the Kambo Boys on another track and I began the countdown to the track. I'm happy to say that the track has finally dropped and I was one of the first people to watch it. Now after a lot of plays, I will be sharing my views and thoughts on the track with you. The track was produced by Mono Mukundu and he did a good job. Mono is one of the best guitarists in the country and on tracks such as this he shines. The track st

Track Review: Sandra Ndebele feat Mzoe 7 - Ingoma.

Sandra Ndebele is back and is hoping to regain her yesteryear fame and success. On this jam she featured fellow City Of Kings and Queens artist Mzoe 7. The track was released a couple of days back and today will be giving my views and thoughts on the track. The track is on a house tip and is sounding quite standard. The instrumental is arranged well and the end result is a track you can dance to. Love the guitar touch in the instrumental. Good work by the producer.  Sandra did a good job on the vocals, she managed to complement the instrumental quite well. Mzoe 7 also gave a commendable performance on his part. The collaboration between the two works quite well. The jam also came with some visuals and they are are looking good. Andy Cutta is arguably one of the best in the game and he just showed why on the video. He made good use of the lighting and the choice of background is on point. Andy loves his slow motion and he used it quite well. Good work by Andy Cutta. In

Project Review: Verseless - Veryus

Image
Verseless is undoubtedly one of the most interesting producers on the local scene, he is versatile and brings a unique sound to music industry. He released a number of compilations in the past 15 months and he seems to continuing with the trend this year. He has released his VERYUS project this week; he was releasing a new song each day for the past week. Now that all the tracks have been released it's time for me to give you my thoughts on the project. The project contains 7 tracks and will be doing a track by track review below: 1. Fluid feat Simba Tagz - Saviour They went for an afro beat/dancehall inspired instrumental on this track. The beat is structured in a standard way and is sounding okay. The artists delivered some good performances here, Fluid stood his ground and Tagz delivered his usual signature performance. The track is about telling that lady that you love that you will do all you can to earn her trust and take good care of her. Its about promising t

EP Review: Kevin Munetsi - Mack.A.Roni

Image
I love music with soul and Kevin Munetsi brings lots of soul. I'm a huge fan of his sound and vibe, loved his tracks Let Me In 2 and Love 101 . and was looking forward to hear what he has in store for us this year ( Artists To Look Out For In 2017 ). He has now decided to drop his first project of 2017 and I'm honoured to be part of the first people to take a listen to the EP. Today will be giving my views and thoughts on the EP. The EP contains 3 tracks and will be doing a track  track review of the tracks. 1. Flav On this track Kevin is falling for this girl and he wonders what really drew him to that lady; is it because she got class, or she got flavour, or her beauty or she is independent or all of the mentioned attributes. So he is hoping to talk to the lady and get to understand what makes her that awesome and special. The production is done very well, Marc Blaze did a great job on the production. Its soulful, and smooth, the type of vibe that calms you down
