Track Review : Zim Jam Signal - Stuck In My Head
Zim Jam Signal is a three man Boy band from the Capital. Originally started by making music which was a fusion of jazz and house but have now evolved to afro pop music with some jazz elements. Their mostly use live instruments for their music with some few computerized sounds here and there. This makes their sound more rich, full and different from many other afro pop artists. Last year they released Jikina a uptempo afro pop track (Jikina Track Review), it received a commendable amount of airplay and introduced them to many Zimbos. They have an album on the way and they have given us a glimpse of what we should expect with this new single Stuck In My Head. So how does the track fare??
Produced by Simba Moyo. The instrumental is well made and is sounding very good. One can distinctly hear the different instruments used in the making of the song. The marimba like sounds, the acoustic guitar and the saxophone all combine to provide a great sound. Great work on the arrangement and the overall production is standard.
The track has that distinct Fuse ODG kinda feel. We all have met someone who mesmerizes you to the extend that their image gets stuck in your head. Its a track a person sings when they are crazy about someone, you get captivated by their eyes, their step, their smile...everything about them. This is what the track is about.
The vocals are sounding good and they complemented the instrumental well. The chorus is simple and one you are likely to find yourself singing to in no time. Coupled with some guitar riffs it's poised to catch your attention.
In overall this is a great track and am loving it. It's gonna make quite a lot of Zimbos look forward to their album. For a group that is not yet that widely known they are definitely moving in the right direction and with great tracks like this one they will soon be a household name.
