Hope Masike - Ndinewe (Official Video)

Gwenyambira has finally released the visuals to the amazing Ndinewe jam. Ndinewe was released quite a long time back and over time it slowly won its way into the hearts of many Zimbos. Personally am a big fan of the track, its beautiful, traditional, has a lovely message and Hope's voice was amazing.

Was very happy when I heard she was making the visuals for the track. To get something of the way; with Hope don't expect to see sexy skimpy dressed ladies, or anything unnecessarily flashy but expect to see art, a visual description of art. She is following in the footsteps of legends like Salif Keita, Angelique Kidjo, Oliver Mtukudzi, Chiwoniso Maraire, Ismael Lo, Youssou N'Dour...etc so you can have an idea of how the video will be like.

The audio was given few improvements, it's a bit different to the one that was released more than a year ago. More drums were added and the difference is more evident towards the end of the track. Its actually sounding better than the audio version. From 3:15 to the End haaa unofa nekutamba

The video is a visual feast of black and yellow. Its interesting and engaging. Ndinewe is about celebrating the the power of love. Love improves the mental and emotional strength  of a person, it gives them happiness and confidence. This video in a unique way shows that kind happiness and power. The cages in the first verse or shackles in the second verse signify the challenges a couple can face, the lack of money, misunderstandings...etc. The chorus on the other hand shows the happiness and confidence that one can get from being with their partner. The rest of the video from the third chorus is a celebration of the love.

Love the traditional dances, its highly refreshing and entertaining to see someone do the traditional dances without making the seem like ancient or backward. We see American dances being adopted by many local artists everyday, it makes me so much proud to see a top artist embrace and flaunt our own traditional dances. Originality still does exist.

Great work to the production team. Great job. .

Let's not forget that she is representing Zim at the 2015 Kora Awards. She is nominated in the Best Traditional Artist category.
