Track Review : Jnr Brown - Tongogara (Real Talk)

The first track from Jnr Brown's upcoming album Morning Glory has finally dropped. Breezy and his team have worked very hard to make this track a success. The path was meticulously planned,  firstly they created a beef the reigning Hip Hop King Cal_Vin to in order to get attention back to Breezy whose star was fast falling because of his long sabbatical break. Before the Hype died down, they started promoting Tongogara. Also to take full advantage of the increased attention on Breezy they created a Pre-Order platform to make some money from the track and beat piracy. My utmost respect goes to the PR Team for working their socks off, being innovative and creating a format and strategy that will possibly change the way music is sold in Zim.

Was not pleased with Breezy's war track We Run It ,it appeared "wannabe" like to me so am anxious to see how Tongogara fares. So lets get down to it:
The track was produced by Begotten Sun. Personally am fed up with trap beats, so you can imagine how pleased I was with the instrumental on this track. Having the acoustic guitar lead the track was a great move. Respect to Sylent Nqo for the guitar work. This is a simple clean beat, no crazy variations. It that kind of instrumental that does not take attention away from the vocals but rather compliment them. Great work by the production team.

Tongogara is a track about the struggle. Josiah Tongogara is National icon, most known for leading the masses during the Liberation Struggle, he was the beacon of hope for Zimbabweans, he stood for the people and was passionate about ensuring Zimbabweans received their freedom and independence. Breezy is highlighting the inequalities and injustices that are occurring all around us. The masses suffering whilst the big guys live lavish lifestyles. Exposing the faulty systems that we have  accepted and adopted. This is social commentary at its best, with a few swipes at political issues. (hope that does not get him in trouble)

In terms of delivery, this is the Breezy at his best. Chilled, passionate with clearly audible lyrics. Tongogara needed breezy to be composed, he needed to transfer the emotions to the listeners and did that perfectly. It's not a track about punchlines or bars but its a track about the struggle, being the voice of the people..Real Talk

The track only costs a $1, so EcoCash it to +263 776 428 482 and then send your name to that same number.  Just as simple as that.

In overall this is a solid track. Great instrumental and powerful lyrics. After listening to this track, am definitely waiting for the Morning Glory Album.
