Track Review : Tocky Vibes - Munyurududu

Tocky Vibes or the Prodigal Artist as l like to call him is slowly getting back to his best again. After failing miserably to switch genres from Reggae/Dancehall to Contemporary Traditional/ Jazz, Tocky decided to return to the genre that made him a household name and artist of the year in 2014. His first song Anakirwa was not that good, he went on to release MaJuda NemaSamaria, Bvuru Bvuru & Ndinouya..etc which were warmly received by the masses. 

Tocky has changed his music a bit though, he is more inclined to reggae with a lot of traditional elements to his instrumentals and way of singing. He is now trying to slowly change his sound whilst keeping his reggae/dancehall fan base entertained and happy, exactly what he should have done before rather than change abruptly. So how does the new track fare???

The track was produced at Mt Zion Records. Despite losing the popularity throne to Kenako studios Mt Zion is still making some amazing songs. This track is one of those smooth & great instrumentals from the Record Label. T-Man definitely hasn't lost his touch. The instrumental is well mixed and mastered, its sounding good on the ear, regardless of where one plays the track. Great Work from Mt Zion Records.

Munyurududu is a love jam. It seems Tocky was singing about how he met his "girlfriend" whilst on a UK Tour, the story and pics of the lady were posted all over the internet and heavily circulated on Whatsapp. On this track he is serenading the Lady, telling her that he will be her provider and will take great care of her. Lovely jam.

He showed he still has the ability to make great songs. We'll see in time if he can manage to reclaim his throne.
