Video Review: Stunner feat Guspy Warrior - Ndoenda
Stunner released this track in the midst of his public "divorce" with wife Olinda and it went on to receive a lot of plaudits from many Zimbos. Stunner shines the most when he is surrounded by controversy and this song is a testament to that. Reviewed the track when it was released (Ndoenda Track Review) and I enjoyed the song, well I still do. Stunner got back to the basics that made him an icon, Guspy (Escobar) delivered a catchy and superb chorus, all in all its a solid jam. Now Stunner has released the visuals of the track and as a fan of the track I was looking forward to it.
We all know what happened between Stunner & Olinda, if you are not familiar just search for the videos all over the internet and catch up. This track is Stunner point of view of what happened and the visuals are doing a solid job in telling the story. The ghetto scene is a nice touch, many Zimbo's can relate to that, many of us have witnessed such drama in our various ghetto's. The track shows a lot of drama going on and its exactly what a lot of people imagined happening in their heads when the scandal was unfolding.
The video in overall has a warm tone to it, the editing is done quite okay and they did a good job in conveying the emotion behind the song. The Olinda voice note part is quite emotional and you can in a way feel the pain Stunner is experiencing.
In overall this is a good video, the storytelling is well done. The visuals in my opinion are not like ExQ's Bhachura, Jah Prayzah's Sendekera or Ammara's Wachu Want which are made with Trace, Channel O or MTV airplay in mind. Stunner wanted something Zimbo's would relate to and enjoy, if the rest of Africa catches on that would be a bonus. I'm enjoying the video.
What are your thought on the video??
