Track Review : Jah Prayzah feat Mafikizolo - Sendekera

The much awaited collaboration is finally out. The MTM boss Jah Prayzah has been on a roll since he released Jerusarema in 2015, everything he touches is turning into gold, he is undoubtedly the biggest artist in Zimbabwe at the moment. Jah is currently on a mission to dominate Africa and the best way to do so is through collaborations with various artists from the areas/regions he wants to reach. Last year he collaborated with Tanzanian superstar Diamond Platnumz and that was quite a successful collaboration, now he has joined forces with South African iconic duo Mafikizolo and if it becomes as popular as Watora Mari, Southern Africa will be done and dusted. Have been listening to the track for some hours now and I can safely share my views and thoughts on the track.

The track was produced by super producer Dj Maphorisa, the same guy who was behind last year's MAMA best collaboration Soweto Baby and Drake's mega hit One Dance. Dj Maphorisa carried on with the good work on this track, the instrumental is sounding good. Love the guitar work and saxophone, those two instruments give the track a lovely feel and they make all the difference. They also give me a nostalgic feeling, i'm in a way reminded of the old Mafikizolo tracks. The production in overall is done very well, good work by Dj Maphorisa.

The artists delivered commendable performances; Jah Prayzah's vocals are strong as usual and the Mafikizolo duo were at par, delivering their signature performance. All in all the collaboration works. In terms of the theme this is not that deep a track, its meant for the party and moments where you just wanna let loose and enjoy.

The track also came with visuals and they are looking good. One thing I got from the track visuals is that Jah Prayzah has sort of a fetish with the schoolgirl...eerrm Eriza. The visuals in overall are more to the Mafikizolo side,  bright colours and doll like sets. The story-line is okay, well the song doesn't have much of a story so it effective enough. The overall editing and  directing is standard.

In overall this is a nice jam, the production is done very well and the visuals are entertaining enough. Jah Prayzah is in the process of changing his sound but however this song sounds like a Mafikizolo track; the structure of  the instrumental and direction of the visuals all heavily lean to the Mafikizolo sound and style despite Jah getting more time on the vocals.

The track did not immediately jump at me as I expected but regardless it's definitely going to get a crazy load of airplay in the coming months. It's not the best track I've heard from either Jah or Mafikizolo but its not bad.

What are your thoughts on the track??
