The Best Shows to Air on ZTV.

ZTV is not synonymous with anything good these days, or it has not been for more than a decade. Currently have no idea of the last time I sat down to watch ZTV, with the internet making news widely available there is really no need to watch ZTV. Regardless of that there was a period where I really enjoyed watching ZTV and over the years believe it or not there have been some really good material and today will be giving you my best shows on ZTV.

So ya here we go: 

7) Cobra

There are many dramas that came from Zim but to me Cobra was intense, it always kept me on the edge. This boxing drama was the closest to an action series that we had whilst growing up. Created by Award Winning  writer Enoch Chihombori who was also responsible fro Gringo.

6) Amakorokoza

This show showcased the best Bulawayo had to offer, loved this show. It was fun, well made and quite engaging. This drama came at a time when Amakhosi Theater Productions was at it peak and that showed in the brilliance in the acting and directing.

5) Ezomgido/Mutinhimhira WeMumhanzi

This show is just iconic. Before we knew of Channel O, Trace, MTV, Ezomgido was the best show to watch local music videos.

4) Studio 263

This show was a massive hit national wide, at its peak Studio 263 was to Zimbos as Generations is to South Africans. Everybody was watching it and it was also pretty good. It set a very high standard for local soaps which has not been matched till now.

3) Mukadota

This show may have aired before I was even born but through the reruns I managed to enjoy the brilliance of Safirio Madzikatire and her compatriot Katarina. In terms on raw impromptu talent this guys was the best. He just knew what to say, when to say it and how to say it. Regarded  by many as the best comedic actor to ever come out of Zim and if you watch The Mukadota Family you will understand why many echo such sentiments.

2) Gringo

Lazarus Boora's Gringo character will be one that will be forever cherished by my generation (the 90's kids). He played it so perfectly and flawlessly I personally cannot think of any other soap, drama, comedy character that can surpass him. The whole supporting cast of Gringo was on point; Mbudziyadhura, Madhumbe, Firimoni...ect.

1) Mai Chisamba Show

This is undoubtedly the best show to ever air on ZTV. Mai Chisamba is a true legend. The Mai Chisamba Show has been running for more than 20 yrs and has covered every major topic there is to cover in Zim.
