Track Review : Adele Hello (Icytat Remix)

Local house DJ, producer and Star Fm radio presenter Icytat decided to join the wagon of Adele's Hello remixes which are sprouting form all over he world with his own remix. Icytat has been making strides with getting his brand out there and with his partnership with Star Fm many local house fans are definitely taking notice. He however has not been having much success on the production side of things, due to Zim's proximity to SA (house capital of Africa if not the world) any local house track will face heavy comparisons from SA tracks and nearly always that never bodes well for the Zim producer. So will this be the track that announces Icytat on the music production side???

The remix sounds very good. As a big house fan, l love the arrangement....the simplicity. The instrumental is made in a way that lets the vocals do the leading. He did not try to go for the kind of remix where one changes the song completely, he kept the Adele signature and feel to the song and just gave it an uptempo beat. Last year John Legend's All Of Me was remixed by many Dj's across the globe and if you are a keen observer you would find that the best remixes kept the vocals and the original song chord/piano progressions/layouts as they are....Icytat adopted such a method on this remix and it works pretty well.

Cant say this remix will be a chart topper, but it will definitely feature in a number of mixes on radio and in the club circles. Personally am enjoying this remix. Looking forward to hearing it more on radio.

Mixtape Review : Brythreesixty - Purple Mars

Brythreesixty has finally released his much publicized Purple Mars Mixtape. 2016 is more like a do or die year for him. He has to show if he can compete with the best and in a year dubbed by many as the Year of Zim Hip Hop he is gonna have to put in more work than before. So how does Purple Mars fare?? God Feeling ( Sikelela ) ft J.S.K.X.X.V.I The first thing you hear is the nice laid instrumental which am loving. God Feeling is about feeling like a boss regardless of the current challenges and putting your trust in God. Success starts from within and this track is about having a winner's mentality.
