Album Review: Killer T - Ngoma Ndaimba

Killer T who was "allegedly"  on the decline returned with a banger of an album Ngoma Ndaimba. He had a below par 2014, he failed to maintain the levels he reached late 2013 when he entered the dancehall scene. 2014 saw the rise of artists such as Tocky Vibes and Souljah Luv, they dominated the market and Killer T was one whose reputation was moving in the opposite direction as them.

Killer T first showed signs of a comeback with the hit track, Handitambe Navo (Mamero). Whilst people where still enjoying the track, he released the critically acclaimed, Ghetto approved album Ngoma Ndaimba. Below will be doing a track by track review of the album.

1) Kumanikida Rudo : On this track Killer T is advising people not to force love. Whenever you force love you will suffer one hell of a heartbreak in the end. He just informs people that when there is love, one can see, so there is no need to force love. This song is on a chilled tip.                          4/5

2) Vagara Vanongovenga: On this song he sings about those people who only see the bad things you do and turn a blind eye on the good things. One cannot satisfy everyone so you must not spend time worrying about such people.                                                                                                              4/5

3) Vanofanirwa Kutendwa : On this song he thanking those guardians that have taken of him since he was young. He is showing the importance of the guardians that helped raise us in our lives, be it your parents, your aunt's, uncles, grandamothers, grandfathers...etc. We all must thank them, for they made us who we are now, we must pray for them that they be blessed and favoured.                     5/5

4) Maisafana Kundirega : On this track he is complaining to his friends and family that they should not have let him get serious with the partner who has broken his heart. He is crying that, you should not have let me fall in love with her, when you suspected that he was gonna break his heart in the future. One can feel the emotion behind this song, we all know someone who has gotten into such a situation in life, or maybe even ourselves have experienced this. Brilliant song                                5/5

5) Zvese Zvandairota :  This track is about declaring that it is now time, dreams and aspiration come true. Its a song that shows one who has decided to stop wishing and make the dream a reality. Motivational song.                                                                                                                          4/5

6) Kuvhiringa Pattern : This track is reminiscent of the yesteryear Killer T. Its about, overcoming haters who want to disturb your flow, your pattern. This song is typical Zim dancehall, singing about haters, and defeating them.                                                                                                           2.5/5

7) Misodzi Yangu : This is an emotionally charged song. Its about a person who is trying to be strong whilst facing painful events in life.                                                                                     5/5

8) Mundinzwewo : On this track he is tackling the societal disputes between the rich and poor. The  rich are given all the attention whilst the poor are not given attention. In terms of opportunities, most favour the rich, in terms of ideas only those of the rich are considered.                                         4/5

9) Ngoma Ndaimba : In this song he is just saying I have given you the music that you were waiting for so lets enjoy.                                                                                                                               3/5

10) Kufamba Naro Bhora : He is saying he will keep going, he will keep releasing songs. Despite what others say he will keep releasing the songs and moving forward.                                             3/5

11) Vanoona Moto :  This is a warning to other artists and haters. He is saying this year is his year, he will make them work for he will be releasing more hit songs.                                                    2/5

12) Haupore : This is another jab, on competing artists and haters. He is saying that he is the main man, and if you are jealousy of him its gonna get worse for he has more hits coming. This song is hardcore, its a dare to others that wish to challenge him.                                                                   3/5

13) Kukosha Kwechikorobo : On this track he is advising his child that, he should take heed of the advise when it is given rather than regret when he has fallen into trouble. He is urging them to listen to advice and act accordingly.                                                                                                            5/5

14) Itai Ndione : This track is about asking which among those who claim to be your friends are really true. For in life they are some who befriend you for you assets, fame...and not for the real you. My favoutite song on the album.                                                                                                     5/5

15) Takumbofarawo :  This is the ultimate turn up song from the album. He is saying we have cried enough (referencing to other songs on the album), its now time to enjoy.                                         5/5

In overall this is a great album, Killer T poured his heart out on this album. This may as well be the best dancehall album of the year, only Seh Calaz's Bandit Rebirth can compete with this album, however that album is more reggae than dancehall.

Perfect debut album from Killer T and one of the best comebacks I've seen in some time. A must listen.
