Track Review: Gze - Imhandu

Gze had a good 2015 with successful tracks like; Mushikashika, John Bhuru & Chimoio. He has now opened his 2016 account with Imhandu (They are enemies). He has established himself as one of the finest shona rappers in the game and on this track he will be looking forward to further solidify his position. This year seems to be a big year for him and his team Jnr Brown and Begotten Sun, everything seems to be going right for them so far. So does Imhandu add to their success/purple patch??

The instrumental has a nice bouncy feel to it, you'll find yourself bumping your head the moment the kick comes in. The kick and snare pattern is quite common though, over the years it has proven to work and it did on this track. Way back in school when someone felt like rapping and he asks his friend for a beat (beat boxing or beating the desk), this is the structure 85%+ will play, only the tempo varied. Regardless of that, one cannot avoid the charm of the pattern, its sounding goooooood. The overall production is good, standard. Great work by Take Fizzo on the production.

Imhandu is Gze warning you of those haters that surround you, that sometimes even pretend to be your friends whilst all they want is to pull you down. I have to say Gze is the King of Slow Drive music, when you strolling down the hood with the boys Gze's music is the best music to play; Yzia (Vroom Vroom), Chimoio & Imhandu....you cannot get better songs than these for that slow drive. Imhandu is easy to sing along and Gze's lazy/drowsy like vocals perfectly blends with the instrumental and invokes that I don't care bragging feeling from within you.

In overall this is a good track. Gze gave a great performance and the production is standard, am loving it.

What are your thoughts on the track??
