Track Review : Noble Stylz ft BlacPerl - Papa

Noble Stylz is ridiculously talented, personally l believe he is the best Shona rapper in recent memory. He got bars and punchlines for days, even Jnr Brown the so called punchline king doesn't get close to Noble Stylz. Noble is in a class of his own. The only thing missing for Noble is a visible brand/image that will make him stand out, he has so much street cred but less presence on the radio and TV. If he gets as much airplay as other rappers like, Tehn Diamond, Cal_Vin, Stunner...etc he will rule hip hop. On this new track he featured partner in crime BlacPerl, another talented rapper...the track is titled "Papa" (Quite a controversial word in Zim). So how does the track fare???


Casper Beats from Bazooka Studios is responsible for the productions of this one. The instrumental fuses modern hip hop elements with traditional elements. The end product is a great unique sound. The traditional mbira/marimba like instruments gives the track an African feel. African Hip Hop sounding African is all we are advocating for and Casper Beats did just that. Great work.

Prophetic churches are the in thing in Zim right now, leading to the popularity of the word"Papa" meaning the Prophet. These churches are known for their miracles and Prophets flamboyance. Noble Stylz took the principles used by these churches to the party/clubbing life. On this track Noble is the Papa and when he gets into the bar, it's drinks for everyone, those who wants to have a good time (experience miracles) must stay close to him. Noble's translation of the church principles/methods to the club life is just mind blowing. Amazing.

Noble showcased his rapping abilities on this track. His rapping style perfectly complemented the awesome instrumental. The bars on this track are just pure niceness:

"...doro racho ma Asbestos 
it's on the house..."

BlacPerl was in charge of the chorus and she did a splendid job. Sampling from Thomas Mapfumo's Nyama Yekugocha, the chorus also adds to the traditional feel of the the track. In overall this is a solid track.

Mixtape Review : Brythreesixty - Purple Mars

Brythreesixty has finally released his much publicized Purple Mars Mixtape. 2016 is more like a do or die year for him. He has to show if he can compete with the best and in a year dubbed by many as the Year of Zim Hip Hop he is gonna have to put in more work than before. So how does Purple Mars fare?? Will be reviewing my top 4 tracks from the Purple Mars Mixtape and will leave  the others for you the fans and readers to rate!! God Feeling ( Sikelela ) ft J.S.K.X.X.V.I The first thing you hear is the nice laid instrumental which am loving. God Feeling is about feeling like a boss regardless of the current challenges and putting your trust in God. Success starts from within and this track is about having a winner's mentality. In terms of the verses both the guys were in beast mode and they gave superb verses.
