Track Review: Taurai Mandebvu - Failing To Love

One of the hardest things is following up on classic jams and Taurai Mandebvu is one artist who serves as a good example of that. He gave us the classic jam Nyeredzi years back then went quiet. He came back years later with Better Man which serenaded all the Zimbo ladies then also disappeared. Now he is back with a new track Failing To Love and the question is will he capture the hearts of many Zimbos again as he did in the past. Have listened to the track and will now be sharing my views and thoughts with you.

The track was produced by the iconic Take Fizzo and he showed why he is a respected producer. Despite mainly concentrating on Hip Hop these days Take Fizzo managed step out of his comfort zone to produce this modern dancehall inspired type of instrumental. Its also arranged well and is sounding good.

On this track Taurai is afraid that his shortcoming are gonna cause him to lose his love. He is afraid he is not going to be able to love his lady as she wants and will lose her in the end. Its a fear many people experience in relationships.

Taurai delivered quite a good vocal performance, and he managed to complement the instrumental very well. He proved he still has that voice that made him a favourite of many.

In overall this is a nice jam, love the production, the theme is good and the vocals are standard. It's a good comeback song, i'm enjoying it and a number of Zimbos will enjoy it also but I don't see it reaching the Better Man levels, it however sets a good platform for a successful comeback.

What are your thoughts on the track???
