Track Review: Jah Prayzah feat Charma Girl - Usimbe

Superstar Jah Prayzah is on a roll, everything he touches is a hit. This year is a year of collaborations for the superstar, he has two songs with South Africa Iconic group Mafikizolo, he is working with house producer Dj Ganyani, he is also working on a song with African Megastar Davido, the list goes on and on. He surely wants to dominate the African music scene and he is well on that path already. Whilst many are still getting up to speed with Sendekera (a  track which failed to excite me)  he has released another track featuring Charma Girl whom he worked a couple of years back on  Dali Wangu.

The track was produced at his Milliatry Touch Movement studio probably by resident producer Humphrey with some help from Dj Tamuka. The instrumental is sounding good and it's a blend of afro beat and Jah's traditional sound. On tracks like Watora Mari or Sendekera the instrumentals were too modern/mainstream with no Jah elements in them but on this track they did their homework. It's a beat that Jah and his band will be able to replicate on stage much better unlike what occurs when they perform Watora Mari or Sendekera.

On this track Jah is urging his child not to be lazy, because laziness will bring a lot of problems for him and will lead him to do troubles as he want to provide for his needs

Both artists gave good vocal performances. Jah Prayzah has changed his singing style a bit to fit his new sound regardless he still knows how to nail the vocals. Charma Girl delivered her signature style and she managed to blend quite well with Jah.

In overall this is an okay jam, the production is done well, the vocals and theme are all good. In comparison with his other collaborations this one is bound to be overlooked on, Zimbo's now expect Jah to feature African superstars and songs like this one are likely to be forgotten about.

What are your thoughts on the track??
