Track Review: Tytan, Cynthia Mare & Donald Kanyuchi - Waita Mari

Tytan is on a roll at the current moment, his track Mukoko ft Ammara Brown has became an anthem, and it is topping charts all over the radio stations. It even earned the Best Song for The first Quarter of 2016. To capitalize on the popularity and increased attention he has released another track, this time featuring Award Winning artist Cynthia Mare and rising artist Donald Kanyuchi. So how does Waita Mari fare???

They went for a Jit/Pfonda inspired instrumental and you can never go wrong with Jit. Its that type of instrumental that always invokes the crazy withing a person, irregardless of the lyrics a Pfonda beat always gets Zimbos dancing. The production is well done and the song is sounding fantastic. Love the guitar lead, the percussion's and the natural African drum like kick. That part from 02:17 - 03.00 is fantastic, it gets you in the mood, you feel like looping it till your legs can't dance anymore.

Waita Mari talks about the attitude and personality changes that occur when a person falls into a windfall. Sometimes a person even change his/her friends to those that match their new status. It also talks about the other side whereby the outsiders will be speculating as to how one fell into such a windfall, mostly suggesting he/she used witchcraft/juju/kuromba...etc. Also when people hear that someone has fallen into some money (even if its just a rumor and false) those who you owe will line up at your house demanding that you pay them. True Story!!

This is a fun track, the artists wanted to deliver a good song without getting too serious and that's what they did. Loved the performances, especially Cynthia Mare, her voice blended well with the instrumental. The collaboration works very well.

In overall this is a nice feel good track, personally I believe the artists did not even make it with the intention to destroy the charts but they just wanted to deliver a good song and a good song they delivered. Am loving it and many Zimbos will also enjoy the track

What are your thoughts on the track??
