Proud Zimbo's Best Songs For First Quarter 2016

At the end of each quarter will be releasing a top 5 list of the track released and reviewed in the period. This first quarter (1 Jan - 31 March) has been interesting, a lot of artists stepped up their game and started 2016 with a bang and some failed to turn up.

So for the top 5 list, a song which has topped any of the end of month charts during the period in question will automatically qualify. Then the last two tracks will be selected according to how the masses reacted to the track and also how it managed to stand the test of time.

So the three tracks that automatically qualify are: Tytan & Ammara Brown : Mukoko (Top Song For January), Alexio Kawara - Nehana (Top Song For February) and Dutch ft Pelo - Have It All (Top song For March).

The Top 5 is as Follows:

5) Dutch ft Pelo - Have It All
This is a track for all the dreamers, all those who are working extra hard to achieve their dreams. Love the instrumental and Pelo gave a superb performance.

4) DJ Stavo ft Trademark & Muungu Afrika -  Ngimtholile
The Kwekwe Hustler keeps pushing Zim House to the world. Even when everyone is switching to dancehall he remains resolute and keeps releasing club anthems. This is his first offering of 2016 and its sounding superb.

3) Jnr Brown - Tongogara
Breezy announced his comeback with this classic. He went in deep here, speaking for the people and standing up for the injustices in this nation. The people definitely appreciated his bravery and the song was hugely successful for the artist, financially wise. The instrumental is fantastic, and Breezy was at his best here.

2) Alexio Kawara - Nehana
This guys is already and Icon and has a long list of classics. This is another classic for his catalog, we will be enjoying this song for years to come. Exquisitely made and a superb performance from Alexio, the track is a marvel. On another day this would have been the top song, its fantastic but for today it takes the 2nd spot. Best love song of 2016 so far.

1) Tytan ft Ammara Brown - Mukoko
Talking about starting the year with a bang, this is a practical example of that. Tytan introduced himself to Zimbos in a big way here. The track is well made and the two artists gave an amazing performance. The beautiful visuals also did justice to this banger. The only downside is that many people refer to the track as an Ammara track when it in fact a Tytan track. Fantastic.

That's it for this quarter.
