Top 5 Tracks - Tanga Wekwa Sando

On this episode of Top 5 tracks will be concentrating on the man who was touted as the king of Towship Music, Tanga Wekwa Sando. He had been in the music game for some year but it was not until 2000 when he released the album Wake that he became a household name. His music has this irresistible allure (township magic) which you  can't escape, you will end up singing along and dancing to the rhythm.

The album Wake was released when I was still in primary school but that did not stop me from singing along and enjoying the music, his music was simple so anyone could easily sing along. Today will be sharing with you my favourite track from the township crooner.

5. Paidamoyo
This is another catchy track from Tanga and its my 4th fav track from him. It's produced well and easy to sing along to, especially that "Kuita Lunar park nerudo..." part towards the end is just irresistible.

4. Mariana
This is one super lovely catchy track, the production is done very well. The track will have you singing along everytime it plays.

3. Mbambamba
This track was from his album Katsindi and it won me over from the very first time I listened to it, the arrangement is on point, the vocals are on point and love how he managed to incorporate the then slang language to deliver a superb love jam. Finding the audio for this track is however a mountain of a task despite the technological era we now live in.

2. Wake
Probably the most recognized track from Tanga, this song received massive airplay when it was released, its a beautiful beautiful track and if someone says this is their best from Tanga I will have no qualms whatsoever its that lovely, however it takes the 2nd spot on my list. The production is done superbly well, love the guitar work on this track, the vocals are heavenly and the message is on point.

1. Buhera
This track probably earned Tanga the Township Jazz King title on it own, it has everything one would expect, superb arrangement, superb vocals and a lovely message. The track takes the feel good element to another level. Its outright my favourite track from the crooner and I bet a number of people will also pick it as their fav from Tanga.

So ya those are my top 5 tracks from Tanga Wekwa Sando, feel free to share with your favourite tracks from the crooner.
