Video Review: Tamy - Ndibereke
Talking about some of the best offerings for 2016, Tamy's The 18th Roller Coaster comes to mind, its just so well made, so refreshing, its a must have. Many people may not be acquainted with her a the moment but if you a fan of radio you have definitely came across the tracks Ndibereke and Sango. Did a review of the album a couple of months back: Album Review: Tamy - The 18th Rollercoaster. I was so delighted when I heard she was working on the visuals for my favourite track on her album, Ndibereke, then I also was afraid the video was not gonna do justice to the superb track and ruin the track for me.
The video was directed by Nico Abote. The went more for an artistic angle rather than a flashy angle and that was a good move. The setting and background was well chosen, Tamy's wadrobe was on point, its hip, unique and stylish, I feel it should have been the same for the other people in the video though for more effect. The directing is simple but nice, good job by Nico
The major problem I have with this video is with the dances, yes the dances are modern but they do not fit this type of sound at all. They should have taken a leaf from Hope Masike's videos for some tips on the dances, she nails those.
Lastly the storyline is lacking, tried to follow it and failed. They should have put more effort on that.
In overall this is a nice video, it's Tamy's first so I'll give her a pass but they could have done much better, especially on the dances and wardrobe (for the others). The visuals did not ruin the track for me fortunately, pheeew!!
What are your thoughts on the video??
