Video and Track Review : Cindy Munyavi - Mubvunzo
The queen of RnB Cindy Munyavi is back with a new jam. The last track she released was Dai, it dropped end of July, did a review for the track, (Dai Video and Track Review). On this new offering Cindy is continuing with the new tradition of releasing a song together with the visuals, a tradition which I am a big fan of. She has been teasing us for weeks now about Mubvunzo and finally its here. So lets see how the jam fares.
The track was produced by Shayzar Zimanyi and he did a good job. The the instrumental arrangement is modern, coupled with a tried and proven classic kick pattern and some nice keyboard work, the end result is a lovely sounding instrumental. Great work on the production.
The vocals are the winning part of the jam, Cindy is just amazing on the vocals. She went back to her best here, that Ndidzorere Moyo Wangu style and vibe. Dai is a good jam but tracks such as this, bring out the best from Cindy. The track is emotional, Cindy is crying out to the Lord asking why love feels like a myth to her, she has tried everything, read love tips, asked around for love tips but all seems to fail and she always ends up being hurt. She is asking where she can find true love, where can she buy true love if its possible!!. Powerful.
The visuals for the jam were made by Zambian director Chipiliro Khonje and he did a very good job. The track is emotional so the video needed to highlight that and they did a good job at portraying that. Cindy did her part very well, her expressions were on point. Even without the audio one can see this is an emotional jam. The setting is well chosen, its beautiful and not distracting. The shot angles are good, in overall the directing is simple but excellently done. Lastly i'm not a fashion guru but that black dress Cindy is wearing is just wooow..beautiful.
In overall this is a solid jam. A lot of people will relate to this jam, the road to love has been unforgiving to the most of us. This is definitely better than Dai and I hope Cindy's upcoming album will have more tracks such as this...Fingers crossed.
What are your thoughts on the track and video??
