Video and Track Review : Take Fizzo - Zion

When Take Fizzo announced that he's done with the life of drugs and is now dedicating his talents to praising God, it was received with mixed feeling with many skeptical of his move. Take Fizzo is a well respected iconic Producer, with a long list of hits starting from the Urban Grooves movement back in 1999 to now. His decision was understandable and that well he was just switching to from secular Hip Hop to Gospel rap meant success was not gonna be that hard. He just kept producing his legendary beats but now the theme has changed.

He has released a couple of gospel tracks such as, Nifuan Kuvina, Hallelujah (Maoko Mudenga), Praise God (Watchu Gonna Do!). But Zion took my interest more than the others mainly coz of the video. So you wonder how Take Fizzo is faring as a Christian Rapper!! Well lets see:

Zion is a synonym used to mean Jerusalem, a holy place. So the song is about going to the Holy place. Although l knew Take Fizzo rapped, have never really heard him rap till he switched to Christian Rap. He is a pretty good rapper, he can give many rappers out there a run for their money. On this song he is track he is talking about making himself better in-order to reach Zion. He is also praising the Lord for his greatness and splendour. Love the guitar work. The instrumental is awesome, heavenly in fact...he showed why he is a regarded as a legendary producer.

Am loving the video, It was directed by Dennis " Zyon Black" Rwafa ,didn't know he also directs videos, he is quite versatile. He did not try to go over the top like many christian rap artists do. The rural/ghetto location which was selected paid off, the end result is one beautiful video. The editing, picture quality and the directing are all on point. Loved the happy dances Take Fizzo was pulling, they gave the song that good feeling which is missing from many videos.

After hearing this song, am very much waiting for the album. To answer the question: Take Fizzo seems to be faring very well as a christian rapper, he is worth listening to.
