Top 5 Tracks : Marko Sibanda
Welcome to another episode of Top 5 Tracks and on this episode we concentrate on Marko Sibanda. This guys is the original storyteller, he would only sing for a small part at the beginning then the larger part of the track he would be narrating a story, which he did so well that he will have you captivated throughout the length of the track. Also he did not abide by the 3 min song principle many did, his songs were on average 15 mins long. So you can guess how many hours I had to go through as I searched for my top 5 tracks among his discography.
5. Wandinyadzisa
The first track on the list talks about those people who do questionable actions and decisions. Those people who make you feel ashamed whenever they make a major decision.
4. Mugeri
This track is follows a normal sungura format and not the popular narrating style that made Marko as popular. On this track he is complaining why the barber gave him a modern popular style when all he wanted was to be left with a bald hair. SO he is complaining that these modern cuts are not appropriate for my age, they are for young fellas.
3. Pane Nyaya
On this track he somehow reminded me of another iconic story teller Paul Matavire. The track is another hilarious story that will keep you hooked up. On this track they are talking about the issue of marital infidelity. This track will leave you with many questions which makes it more interesting.
2. Jambanja Pahotera
This is arguably his most known track. He tackles the issue of infidelity in marriage and the way he narrates the story is just amazing. Posing some insane questions as he narrates his story to keep the listeners engaged.
