Track Review: Dj Stavo feat. Roki - The Journey

Dj Stavo has officially opened his 2017 account. He last released Simudza Ngoma featuring Jah Prayzah end of last year and the visuals have garnered a lot of views on YouTube. Personally Simudza Ngoma is one of my least favourite tracks from Stavo, I'm a big house fan and that track is not that good, if it wasn't for Jah Prayzah's pulling power I feel it was not gonna get as much airplay and views. Now he has released a new jam and this time he features Roki, have listened to the track quite a lot and will be giving my views and thoughts on the new track.

Stavo went for a Black Motion kind of arrangement on this track and I'm loving it. The inclusion of the acoustic guitar was a very good move, if you follow house music (especially deep house) on the continental scene you will know how much the guitar is like the the Holy Grail these days. The guitar work is done very well, whoever was in charge of the guitar did a splendid job. The keyboard also gave the track a nice smooth edge and it complemented the guitar very well. All in all this is a solid instrumental and it's now my favourite Dj Stavo production.

The Journey is more like a personal diary page, on the track Roki is just singing about how lonely and tough the journey was to get to where is now. Music is his calling and it has been his life's journey to become the musician he is today, he has sacrificed and suffered a lot on this journey/passion of his.

The vocal performance by Roki was on point, he delivered a passionate performance and blended well with the instrumental.

In overall this is good jam, I'm loving it. The instrumental is superb, Roki was at par on the vocals, the theme is on point, solid jam. This is not a track that will climb to the top of the charts or get massive views in a short period of time especially in this Zim music industry but its a track that house fans will definitely love and will be playing for some time to come.

What are your thoughts on the track??
