Track Review: Trevor Dongo - Shoko Rerudo

The King of RnB is back with a new jam. Trevor has created a strong brand for himself with his consistency. He has been on top of his game for years now, thanks to his classic albums such as Ruvarashe and First Verse. Since he tore the local music charts apart with Ndashamisika in 2012 he has been a household name, an icon many might say. Despite not being able to recreate or reach the Ndashamisika levels he has been delivering some lovely tracks.  At the moment Trevor is currently working on a new album and this new single is a glimpse of whats to come!!! without much chatting lets see how it fares??

The track was produced at Kenako Studio and they did a great job. The track has a nice modern feel to it, in some instances it reminds me of Dj Ace Tanner and Paul Martin's Made To Love. The instrumental has this lovely feel good vibe about it. The overall production is on point, its sounding awesome. Great work by the Kenako Studios crew.

Shoko Rerudo is a track one sings when someone has them smitten, deep in love. We all have been so deep in love that we want to personalize that person, make them completely yours. In those moments you not shy to tell and show them you Love Them. That's basically what this track is about. Lovely track.

Trevor gave a super performance. He still is one of the best vocalists we have in Zim and he shows it on this track. Love the seamless way he blended English and Shona on this track. His other tracks in English did not really do it for me but on this track it worked very well. It shows growth on his part. He also switched up his style a bit here which is awesome because his other tracks although sounding awesome were getting a bit generic, predictable to an extend, the switch up is definitely a good move. Besides all that it will not be a Trevor D without his signature high pitched screams and way of singing that always seem to get the ladies warmed up.

In overall this is a very nice jam. I'm loving it and once it hits the radio a lot of people will be loving it also. This track definitely gets me hyped up for his upcoming album.

What are your thought on the track??
