Proud Zimbo [Anhu Acho]

Ishan has been the revelation of the year, he straight up came out of nowhere and is now dominating the music game with his monster jam Kure which features another high flying artist Ti Gonzi. This track worked it's way towards the top winning fans one at a time, it's a true definition of how good music will always rise to the top regardless of the artist being an unknown, cream always rises to the top.  This track brought a refreshing vibe to the industry which many are loving. Judging by the first half of the year, there is no track which has received as much love as Kure , yes there are a number of other urban jams currently getting a lot of love; (Takura's Zvemoyo , Tamy's Kwandinobva , Leonard Mapfumo's Masimukiro , ASAPH's V.I.C , Ti Gonzi's Mabazooker Enzo nemaPumacol ...just to mention a few) but none is as big as Kure . One strength of the track was that it came with some refreshing and entertaining visuals which made it a complete package. ...

I have been waiting for this album for more than two years now, if you go back to my "10 Projects I Am Looking Forward To" series that I compile and publish at the beginning of each year you will see Hope Masike has been appearing for some time. I am a huge fan of Hope and I was anxious to see whether she was gonna live up to the Mbira Queen title, of you have been following Zim music, you know being coined the Mbira Queen is a massive position, all those who have been given that title are regarded as musical Legends, it started with Mbuya Stella Chiweshe, then it was passed on the the iconic Sister Chiwoniso Maraire and now the onus is on Hope Masike.  I have many expectations for this project so when it dropped I immediately jumped onto Spotify and started listening. I have always believed that Bulawayo is the arts capital in Zimbabwe, they may not have the financial muscle as H-Twn but their creativity levels are above any other city. The city was however dormant for quite a number of years then in 2015 a new hip hop wave emerged and the City started showing signs of recovery. Fast forward to 2019 and Bulawayo is now a proper powerhouse in the hip hop circles and is showing no signs of stopping. Among the new faces that emerged none is bigger than ASAPH at the moment, he introduced himself to many in 2015 with his Kingsvilla series which earned him respect from all critics across the Hip Hop community. He showcased some superb storytelling and created a captivating project which was a departure from the many projects that were being released then. Tocky Vibe's musical career is basically a motivational book on it own. He blew up like crazy in 2014, he had been in the music industry for years before then but it seemed as if all he had been working for finally materialized in 2014, where he dominated everything music wise; music charts, live concerts, public & private events, radio & kombi airplay...everything music wise. However as fast as his rise came, at the turn of the year it felt as if someone turned the switch off on Tocky's brand and music as he went from being the most demanded artist to not being booked for single event/show and having his tracks suddenly disappear from the airwaves. Peter Moyo against all the odds and challenges continues to push his fathers legacy and at the same working to prove that he can be his own man. He has been gathering a sort of cult following at his live performances, with some arguing he is one of the best when it comes to stage-work (am yet to attend his show so I'll confirm once I have attended one of his live shows). Reviewed his last album Mopao Makonzi and in summary " the instrumental arrangements were good, his late fathers would have been proud of them however the vocals were still not polished enough ". Going into this album will be mostly looking forward to hear how much his vocals have improved and also does he manage to maintain the level of instrumental arrangement he showed on his last album or even exceed them. Good music takes good teamwork to make. There is a deeper understanding that is required between two or more people in order to create some timeless music. Zim has been blessed with a lot of explosive combinations over the years and today will be sharing with you some of those combinations which always bring a smile to my face, hopefully they also bring joy to your ears Will not be able to mention all the combination but will be sharing those I have personally listened to and enjoyed. There is just something special about gospel music when its being sung by a large choral group, the vocal harmonies create a certain fullness which is irresistible. This is why since many can remember Gospel Choral Groups have always existed and their market will always exist. Generally these groups do not mainly rely on the lead singer but on the entire group, the unison and chemistry of the group members. Creating and managing a successful choral group is a mammoth task as the various members will have varying goals and ambitions. This has led to many groups dissolving, man management is always a tough task, ensuring that despite the different ambitions, members can come together to achieve a similar goal (the groups goal). There needs to be some solid policies ensuring  every member is given an opportunity to showcase their talent, some are excellent songwriters some excellent singers so selecting which songs to record and who to sing is a massive headache for the group dir...
