Tocky Vibes - Munyezunyakata EP Review

Tocky Vibes releases projects like he is releasing singles. Before you know it another project has already dropped. However he is one artist who is now very confident about his art and sound so his projects are always a pleasure to listen to. Yes he runs the risk that only a few of his songs gets to get airplay and many are skipped over as there is not enough time for many to listen to all the tracks, they will be moving on to the new tracks. 

He doesn't seem to care about that and also does not believe in holding back music from his fans. Three months into the new year he has now released his first (there will be many I can bet) project of the Year titled Munyezunyakata, Tocky knows how to name his projects, the titles get your attention. So as usual jumped onto the project and today will be sharing my views and thoughts on the album.

1. Maadvisor

On this track Chama is saying you don't need many advisors in a relationship, it will only lead to heartbreaks. If in a relationship the two of you listen to too many people that will ruin your relationship, as everyone has their agenda and that will lead to confusion between the two of you which will lead to the relationship breaking down. The production is done well, the track is well arranged. Tocky delivered a solid performance. 

2. Opal

Tocky is dedicating this song to his daughter, encouraging her to remain on the right path as she will get all the things she desires in her life. He is admitting his failures as a father but is saying loving you is one thing I have been good at. The production is done well, the track arrangement is okay. Tocky was also delivered an okay performance. 

3. Munyezunyakata

The title track has Tocky saying to his partner, I will not stop loving you, you have completed me. The track is produced well, the arrangement is good. Tocky delivered his signature performance.

4. Tisiyane Hazvigone

My early favourite on the album, Tocky is saying I cannot explain how your love makes me feel. Many expect to see us apart but it won't happen. The vocals are on point on this jam, love the backing vocals, they are catchy and on point. Tocky delivered a superb performance on this one. The production is done well, love the arrangement, the Amapiano fusion was well done. Solid jam.

5. Lonely Pt 2

Loved the first one, it was among my top 10 tracks of 2022. This second one takes a different direction as to the first one, which is good. The production is done well. Tocky is saying I am still lonely, I wish you could pick up the phone and call me. The tracks is arranged well. It's a good jam, a fitting follow up.

6. Kana Ndodya

Tocky is praising her lady saying, he has won big time by bagging her, he is likening it to dining with Kings. Many admire her but she is his. The production is done well, the arrangement is solid and Tocky was good on the vocals.

7. Tamba

Tamba means dance, Tocky is saying dance and show them, don't worry about them disturbing you I am here, Chamakuvangu is by your side. The production is done well, the arrangement is done well and Tocky delivered a good performance.

8. Usanditsvaga

Tocky is saying I loved you but you left but now you want us to date again when you are now married. He continues to say No don't stress me, don't look for me, you had your chance but left me now you regret and are not happy in your marriage and want to use me. The production is done well, the arrangement is spot on. Tocky delivered a solid performance.

So ya that's its for Munyezunyakata LP. Tocky has again delivered.

The production is solid throughout the project. As I have said before Tocky is so confident in his art and is not afraid to experiment. The sound he went with on this project is lovely, fusing contemporary sound with Afro beats, and Amapiano worked, the end result is this fresh sounding sound which I am enjoying very much. The track arrangements are all done very well.

The project is all about relationships and the theme was tackled well. This should have been a proper Valentines project for Tocky but he decided otherwise, despite that its a solid project.

Tocky was solid on the vocals, he was very good throughout delivering the signature Tocky Vibes many already know and love.

To conclude this is a good project from Chamakuvangu. He continues to grow his brand more, these days the name Tocky is associated with quality music and rightly so. I have enjoyed all the tracks on the album, my current favourite being Tirambane Hazvigone. I recommend this project.
