Artists To Watch Out For in 2019
As a follow up to the previous post, on this post will be sharing with your the artists I feel you should keep your eye on in 2019. As always the artists on this list are not the established ones but those who are yet to become household names or icons in the game.
Lets get to the 10 artists.
1. Enzo Ishall
2018 was his year, he dominated the dancehall circles and the whole music scene in general. His tracks Chiita Kwacho, Handirare Kuden Kwenyu, Kanjiva & Smart Rinotangira Kutsoka were big hits. At the end of year he won song of the year on the Cocacola Top 50. This year will be the defining year for Enzo, its the year he shows he is here to stay and 2018 was not a fluke.

2. Baba Harare
The man straight up got people dancefloor year with his The Reason Why track. It revived the jit sound and many people loved it. He followed it with Guzuzu feat JP which is currently getting airplay in a lot of bars. 2019 is the year he will prove whether he is a one hit wonder or not.

3. Obert Chari & ZCC Harikeni Stars
This guy for many of us came out of nowhere and delivered one of the most memorable tracks of 2018; Mebo. Its a simple and straight to the point track that resonated with all who listened to it. The video was also low quality but again straight to the point, its basically like a small movie. With such success Obert Chari has a lot to prove this year.

4. Tamy Moyo
Its now wierd that she has been in my top 10 lists for 3 years now, i'm such a huge fan and also she is improving with each year. This year again I feel its gonna be better for her. She will be featuring on Coke Studio Africa so I feel that is going to give her the exposure that will take her to the next stage.

5. Jah Signal
Sigi has a superb 2018, he was played everywhere. Together with Enzo they dominated dancehall last year. Unlike many dancehall artists he also delivered a solid album; Jaya. He also has entered a pivotal year in his career, where he has to prove that he is here to stay.

6. Mbeu & The Mhodzi Tribe
Mbeu's Hatizvimirire was my best album of 2018, the guitar work and instrumental arrangements on that album are sublime, the vocals are also equally superb. That album introduced Mbeu to a lot of people and he was being booked for private and corporate events all over in the last half of the year. He has been steadily rising for the past two years and this year he needs to keep up with the oace he has set for himself and for someone dubbed the next best thing by many this will be a pivotal year in his career.

7. ASAPH
ASAPH gave Zim Hip Hop a sort of revival last year, his track Mambo was a big hit and probably the only Hip Hop track to top the weekly charts on the urban radio stations. It topped the charts for a couple of weeks which on its own is a record given how hip hop tracks have been performing when compared to dancehall, afrobeat and sungura. For rap heads ASAPH was already loved but crossing over to appeal to other non rap heads was and is still the challenge, Mambo created a solid platform, he followed it with Good Times a feel good bouncy jam which am also a fan of. What is needed now is for ASAPH to cultivate gis brand more and become a household name.

8. The Vine
When it comes to gospel choral groups ZimPraise sort of have a monopoly in the industry, they have the exposure and financial muscle to remain afloat in these challenging economic times, however that does not mean other groups are giving up. Last year bumped across the SDA groups The Vine with their track, Musandipfuure. Loved the tracks and the sort of uniqueness they possess, SDA specializes in acapella so now imagine some beautiful acapella on top of some lovely instrumentals...that is the vine for you. They released their debut album in December and will be listening to the project and sharing my views with you. This will be an pivotal year for them, they need to create a visible brand to capture the masses and increase on the following they already have.

9. Bazooker
He is living in the shadow of Enzo Ishall currently at their record label but regardless of that many know he possesses some superb lyrical skills. The major problem was that his tracks contained a lot of obscene language and that has stopped him from getting airplay on radio stations. This year he needs to show that he can be as big as Enzo or he will just ne another promising artist who falls by the wayside.

10. Takura
Will again include him in this year's list, hate him or love Takura is musically on point, you cant help but sing along when he releases something new. His album Someone Had To Do It album was quite good but not to the levels of his EP's. As the year he went on to release some super singles Jehovah & Cant Get Over You. He is working on something new and he is promising us his best work to date and that is definitely something to look out for.
