10 Albums I Am Looking Forward To in 2018

Its the beginning of the year and as now has become tradition I will be sharing with you 10 Albums I am looking forward to the most throughout the year.

So without wasting much time lets get to the list:

1. ExQ - Tseu Tseu
I was disappointed when this album failed to drop last year, it initially had a release date of August 2017 meaning the album was complete but for some reason it was never released, the politics of belonging to a record label maybe. Regardless of that, I'm pretty convinced that this album will drop the first half of 2018 and will be looking forward to it.

2. Janet Manyowa - Unnamed
She dominated 2017 with only one song to her name, she topped the gospel charts on every radio station with her powerful jam Zadzisa and this year I hope she gives us something. She is arguably the biggest female artists in the country and if her new album is as good as her debut album she will be at the top for some time. She will also be hosting a gospel show titled Redeemed which will be on YouTube and Facebook so will also be looking forward to that.

3. Winky D - Unnamed
Many expected this album to drop in November but instead Winky gave us three singles and said toonana in Feb. Honestly among the 3 singles released only Dzemudanga managed to get my attention the other two I can even forget they exists sometimes. He has a tall order proving he still has the magic and also releasing in Feb means the tracks have to stand the test of time which is different from releasing tracks for the festive season so because of that this album has a lot to prove.

4. Victor Kunonga - Unnamed
Last year it was my personal wish that Victor gets to give us something new but that did not happen. According to his release schedule this year will probably be the year he gives us the follow up to the superb Kwedu.

5. Hope Masike - Gwenyambirakadzi
This is also another album I was expecting last year but Hope moved the release date to 2018 and oohh boy am I waiting for this project. It's arguably the album I am anticipating the most this year.

6. Alick Macheso - Unnamed
Ba Sharo hinted that a new album is nearly finished and although his last albums were not up to his outstanding levels that will not stop me from anticipating the new album. The guy is a legend so whenever he hints on something I await eagerly.

7. Alexio Kawara - Oyi
Again another album I was expecting last year but Lex pushed the release date to 2018 and i'm still very much waiting for it. It's now 6 years since the release of the super lovely Tose album and its high time a new project drops.

8. Takura - Unnamed
This young man has entered the music scene with so much noise that you just had to notice him, even when some wanted him to fail he has powered through and established himself as one of the finest urban artists around. His Stripped EP was received well and got a lot of people dancing, last year he dropped a couple of singles and sealed the year with another lovely EP titled Relationship Goals. This year he has been hinting of an album in the works and I'm definitely waiting for it.

9. Sulumani Chimbetu - Unnamed
Despite being quiet than normal Sulu remains on of the most recognized names in local showbiz, the Chimbetu name is synonymous with quality music and Sulu has done his part in pushing the name further. His last album Jamboree showed how much Sulu has grown in terms of his music and themes but suffered because it was deemed too political for national radio. Regardless of that Dendera fans loved and still love the album, personally the album has been growing on me day by day and I cannot wait for the new album.

10. Jah Prayzah - Unnamed
It's now common knowledge that JP releases an album every year, making sure you never spend any time without a JP song in your playlists. His last album Kutonga Kwaro was a major success and every Zimbo is waiting to see how he will follow up on that album. Personally enjoyed Kutonga Kwaro more than I expected and i'm very much waiting to see what he will prepare for us this year.

So those are the ten albums I am looking forward to the most in 2018. Feel free to comment with the albums you are looking forward to the most this year.
