Track Review: Sharky & Karma - Munondivengereyi

Award winning rapper Sharky has joined forces with the Chasing Moments classic maker Karma on this new jam. Sharky is enjoying a successful patch in his career, his album Soko Matemai ( ) was well received by rap fans in Zim and earned him the deserved Album of the year gong at the 2016 Zim Hip Hop Awards. Karma gave us the iconic Chasing Moments Mixtape back in 2012 and then went on a sabbatical leave to finish his studies and he is back now, hopefully. So have give myself some time to listen to their jam and today will be sharing my views and thoughts on the track.

Rayo beats was in charge of the production and he did quite a good job. Love the fusion between the African instruments, the rock guitar and the modern hip hop elements. The instrumental in overall is structured very well and does a great job in bringing out the best in both the artists. Great job by Rayo Beats.

On this track they are talking about those people who never appreciate or applaud you even when you have done something good, those people who seem to despise anything you do. They are asking why do you hate me??.

The verses are what I was looking forward to the most given the talent on show. Sharky was in charge on the first verse and he nailed it, I love how Sharky structures his raps, love it when he slips into this detembo kind of style and how he seamlessly switches between English and Shona. His verse is also well written, those who have been following Sharky can easily relate and understand where is coming from and what he is saying. Karma was in charge of the second verse and he also delivered a solid performance. His style was in sync with the beat. Despite having some cheesy lines in his verse it's quite well written and has some good bars. The chorus is simple, straight to the point and easy to sing along to. All in all the collaboration works.

In overall this is a good jam, it has a lovely feel to it, the production is done very well, the artists are on point and despite the theme being a generic rap theme it's well done. I'm enjoying the track and many rap fans will be doing the same. Hope we get more tracks from the guys, imagine a collaborative Ep/mixtape/album that sounds as good as Chasing Moments and Soko Matemai combined..!!!!!!!!!!!.

What are your thoughts on the track??
