Holy Ten - Energy Album Review

Image
Holy Ten came and injected the much needed energy and vibe for local Hip Hop. Since then he has been a major player for the genre. His last album Risky Life was not that impressive, his best work has so far has came from singles. Will that change with this album?? This time there is no hype to push the album as what helped the last album, how will he fare??!! This album was supposed to have been released a few months back but he pushed the release citing he was not satisfied by the end product and felt it needed more work. The album has finally dropped and have gotten my copy and today will be sharing my views and thoughts on the project. As usual will be doing a track by track review and then share my overall thoughts on the album. 1. It's Never Easy Ten on this track is saying it's never easy having peace in your mind when you are running around trying to make progress in life. The production is done quite well, the track is well arranged. Holy delivered his signature perform...

Alick Macheso - Tinosvitswa Nashe Album Review

Image
When Macheso is about to drop the whole nation stops in anticipation, no other project will be talked about, that's how big and  respected the legend is. He is the man who changed the Sungura handbook and changed what it means to have a good time in Zim. The current Sungura revival is captivating and would love to see how Macheso fares compared to the new generation. The best among the new crop Mark Ngwazi will be releasing in two weeks, he has proven over his career that he is very capable and on his last album Chamugwegwedu Chamatindike proved he can beat anyone when it come to the best project for the year. Also another question going into this album is how will Macheso improve from his last album, production and arrangement wise??!! The album was well marketed, the hype was there, and the launch was iconic, befitting the legend he is. As usual rushed to get my copy and now will be sharing with you my thoughts on the project. Will be doing a track by track review as usual and af...

Feli Nandi - Izwi Album Review

Image
Feli Nandi has been winning over fans with her powerful and soothing vocals eversince she came onto the music scene solo. Started noticing her when she was singing backing vocals for Mbeu & The Mhodzi Tribe, when you listen to the album The Mhodzi Diaries 1 you can't help but pick her vocals. She then left the band and went solo and she been growing stronger with each release and you could not resist her anymore. She has released a string of emotionally invoking tracks over the past two years which have endeared her with many Zimbos.  For the past two years she has been the fastest rising female artist, she fills that gap for mature love and relationships music, a gap that was once occupied by Plaxedes Wenyika yeeeears back.  Now after a string of lovely singles she has dropped her first album. It's well timed, the market is ready for her, corporates and a lot of Zimbos are taking notice of her, this album if executed well can catapult her to great heights.  The album...

Mwenje Mathole - Svingobhgwe EP Review

Image
Mwenje Mathole has that refreshing voice that will captivate you from the moment you first listen to his music. He has his unique interpretation of music that is beautiful and requires you to really get deep and lost in the music. These attributes have made several artists want to work with the him, he brings that different flavour. Tracks such as Paye, Ndizvo Here, Kuhope all give testiment to this. Mwenje is for those people who are musically adventurous, he makes music in different forms and does not confirm to one specific genre. Even when he does a certain genre he always spices it up, you never know what's in store for you. He has now finally released the EP that I had been waiting for, failed to attend the launch but rushed to get  my copy and after a week of listening will be sharing my views and thoughts. As usual will be doing a track by track review and share my overall thoughts as I conclude.  1. Shasha A gospel track done the Mwenje way, it speaks about a popular ...

Tindo Ngwazi & Adequate Sounds - Bhedhegubhe Album Review

Image
The Sungura genre has gotten its competitiveness back, its now again a seriously contested genre and you have to push yourself to the maximum if you want a chance at being recognised. The fans are ready for the music, the platforms are waiting for the music, it's now up to e artists to deliver. For the past two years the most played song nationwide has been a Sungura tracks, Taurai Madzoka then Kujatajata. This year will the genre repeat the feat  Tindo Ngwazi is one such artist who is hard at work making a name for himself in the genre. Over the years he has been steadily making his mark, loved his track Judgement, its the track that made me a fan. Big question is how will he fare in a year where some big names such as Alick Macheso, Mark Ngwazi, Simon Mutambi will be releasing so can Tindo prove he deserve his seat at the big boys table. The album has been out for some time and have been listening to it and now will be sharing my thoughts on the album. 1. My Love (ft Mark Ngwazi)...
