The much anticipated debut album from Takura is finally here. A lot of hype was around this album and to be honest it definitely deserved the hype because the guy gave us two solid EP's en-route to this album. Takura and his PR did a very good job towards the release of the album, they managed to create a good platform and image and all that was left was the album to drop.  Takura has classified himself as an "artists" without any genre tag to it and his two EP's definitely testify to that. He was in a hip hop mood on the Stripped EP ( Stripped EP Review ) then Trapsoul/Rnb on the Relationship Goals EP ( Relationship Goals EP Review ). Many like me were anxious to see which Takura we are going to see on this album. Finally Finally Tseu Tseu is here, ohhh my had been waiting for this album since last year Aug when they first decided to drop it then for reasons not explained to us the fans changed the date. ExQ has gone through a massive reinvention and is now among-st the leaders of the new modern sound. Killer T earned himself a lot of fans and respect from his superb Ngoma Ndaimba (2015) album which Zimbos from all backgrounds and ages could relate to. He followed that album with Bvunza Tinzwe which was not as good as its predecessor but regardless also got a lot of love from fans. Since then whenever Killer T drops a track, EP or album you are guaranteed a lot of Zimbos will be waiting for it.  In the build up to this album they teased that he will collaborating with the biggest artist in Zimbabwe Jah Prayzah and that got a lot of people talking. Unsurprisingly the collaboration is the lading track from the album. The City of Kings and Queens is creating a solid culture when it comes to Hip Hop and one of the leading artists is Asaph. He delivered two well received projects Kingsvilla 1 & Kingsvilla 2 ( my favourite from him so far ) which put him on the radar of many hip hop/rap heads in the country. Currently he is included among the artists that will probably push hip hop to the next stage on the local front.  The attribute that distinguished Asaph the most from other artists is his storytelling, Kingsvilla 2 is such a well structured and captivating story (). Players Bar is located in the  CBD below the parkade along Union Avenue in Harare, its not flashy or upmarket in any way, its more to the filthy side. The location of the bar is on a dark corridor which feel like a cave and on your way to the door one will be greeted by the smell of urine as some patrons relive themselves in the dark parts on the path. Inside there is nothing that stands out, you get a stage, pool tables some flat screen led tv's and several bar tables where you can order your beer and chill. Enroute to the toilets you pass through a mini restaurant, only the brave eat there!!. Its definitely not a bar you can take you lady to but you can go with your buddies mostly because the beers are perfectly priced, no additional premiums or anything. The legendary Oliver Mtukudzi is back with another album!!! personally I feel it's not really necessary for him to keep releasing albums, he has over 60 albums and they contain enough classics for him to keep performing till he cannot perform anymore. However Tuku has been doing this longer than I have been on this earth its now part of him and it's hard to retire from something you love that much. Going to this album one thing you realize is that his music these days is less aimed at being commercial successes but it's him sharing his mind with fans, he is addressing certain social issues that he feels need to be addressed. It's no longer the Paivepo, Vhunze Moto, Tsivo, Nhava, Neria Tuku, he has now fully taken the granddad of music role in its entirety, whenever he releases something he is advising just as granddad's do. Tembalami has indeed grown as a gospel artist over the years. He is one of the best when it comes to modern contemporary gospel, fusing various modern elements to make his music more relate-able to a lot of Zimbos especially the youthful masses. Personally became a huge fan of Tembalami when he released the Brighter Days album in 2011, the album spoke to me and even up to this day I still love listening to the album, tracks such as Brighter Days and Famba NaJesu gave me strength & hope on many days. He followed Brighter Days with a much more impressive Faith Aid Kit in 2013 which introduced us to a more refined and polished Tembalami, it was a commercial success ( had tracks in most of the gospel charts on urban radio stations ) and elevated him into the best modern contemporary gospel artist in the country.
