Holy Ten - Musoro Wenzou Album Review

Image
Holy Ten has mastered the art of trending, the guy knows how to get the attention of  young people. He knows his target market well and how to get them talking, a true social media era influencer. For a 90's kid like me who grew up during the Urban Grooves Movement era, Holy Ten has many similarities with Stunner, both know how to keep people talking even when there is no music, they both represent a level of boldness that many hate and many more envy and wish they had. You can hate him but cannot escape his moves or headlines.  I will not be getting into the many dramas and scandals Holy Ten has been through, you can read about them on social media, will just concentrate on the music. This album was supposed to drop on 18 April on Independence day, a album launch event was held and even another one in Zambia but besides Ganza featuring Oriyano the other tracks never dropped. Two months later Mujaya decided its now time to properly release those tracks, finally. Have been lis...

Shashl - The First Quarter Album Review

Image
Shashl had a solid 2024, her tracks Remedy , Deepisa and Nemoyo were well received, they became mainstays on music charts on various urban music radio stations. After a couple of years on the fringes in 2024 she announced her arrival on the scene and you had to take notice.  The female space in the urban music scene currently is arguably up for grabs, I don't feel there is any outright champion, Feli Nandi is the one who comes to mind firstly, despite how good she is, she mostly appeals to a more mature and older generation which leaves much of the market up for the taking. Tamy Moyo, Nisha Ts, Gemma Griffith just to mention a few are the other names other will thrown into the ring and none of them has significant edge over the other. This all means Shashl can come and disrupt if she plays her cards right. She definitely has the financial muscle to make as much projects as she wants, the question is can she rise the occasion and take the crown. The new album is finally out and ...

Tindo Ngwazi - Kujandainzwa Album Review

Image
Tindo Ngwazi has managed to hold his own despite his big brother Mark Ngwazi getting most of the media attention. He has over the years shows he can hold his own and become a force to be reckoned with on his own. He did well with Ndavanzwa Vachibheja and Panomera Mhodzi from his past album, they did some proper rounds in the charts and playlists.  The competition in the Sungura genre is heating up, over the past couple of years we have witnessed a revival in the genre, fan engagement is also increasing, the throne is available for the taking, its now up to the artists to prove who can lead this new movement. If Tindo wants to be in that conversation he needs to step up and show he can match the best. This album is a good opportunity for Adante to show he is a force to be reckoned with. After some time listening today will be sharing with you my thoughts on the album below. 1. Ndine Chikumbiro Tindo is singing about the challenges that he is facing in trying to make something of h...
